I'm going to Hawaii in May and I desperately need a new swimsuit. I really want something fun and colorful. I love big bold prints and Victoria's Secret has some great one (not to mention they are having a sale tomorrow--20% off purchases of $50+). I have narrowed it down to the above three suits...thoughts?

Work Outfit: Fancy Pants!

Shirt: Express; Pants: H&M; Belt: H&M (came with the pants); Earrings: Target; Bracelets: Presents of Mind (boutique in Portland, OR); Ring: Vintage (from my granny); Shoes: Joan & David (I cut them off in the picture and was too lazy to retake the photo--sorry)

Today was a work day for me which is explains the 9-5 style. Since I'm still a student (law school...bleh) I only work three days a week (one of which is Friday--casual Friday!). I always get excited to dress up on Mondays and Wednesday and test drive my work wardrobe. I'll get a lot more use out of it when I'm working full time over the summer but for now I only get to dip into this section of my closet two days a week so it's still exciting!

I was so eager to wear these pants to work today! I bought them on Sunday and am obsessed with them! They are so light weight and absolutely perfect for summer. The accessories are my other favorite part of this outfit. I bought the bracelets at this little store on Hawthorne in Portland, OR (called Presents of Mind). It's the coolest store with some amazing handcrafted jewelry. The ring was a gift from my mom. It used to belong to my granny (who died when I was about ten) so it really means a lot to me (not to mention, it's gorgeous)!

Wishlist: Pale Yellow Silky Shift

The hunt is on, and I won't stop until I find it! I don't know if it has anything to do with all the Easter peeps I've been seeing lately, but I've been looking everywhere for a delicate, silky, long-sleeved yellow dress like this one by Burberry. Since I don't have $750 (choke!), I will be on the hunt for a cheaper version, without losing quality...I will update you on my findings as they come. Let me know if anyone has come across this look for less!

Objet d'Amour: Redlight, greeenlight...

Posted by: Shar

The blog is now officially up and running, and I couldn’t be more excited or proud! Following the lead of Miss Molly, I too, made a fine home decor purchase this weekend. This interesting lamp doubles as art and is reminiscent of a certain tacky stoplight that can be found in bachelor pad basements or billiards halls. But, I love the chrome finish and delicate glass blown details of this grown-up version. I found this beauty at Seattle Lighting in Bellevue. It was the floor model with no price (scary). Tips: if dealing with floor models, they are usually final sale, so ask for a discount (the saleswoman and I worked out a deal). Also, be sure everything is in working condition and free of dings before you take your purchase home. Now where to put it…square on the floor for now :)

Objet d'Amour: Orla Kiely for Target Letter Box

Posted by: Molly

I'm very excited to be writing the inaugural blog for Nine to Five Style! I don't have an outfit to post today (since it's Saturday I'm not wearing anything even remotely cute) but I DO have an objet d'amour! I went to Target this morning and couldn't help but wander down the home decor section. During the course of my browsing, I found the little gem above (which is currently still sitting on my bed waiting for a permanent home). Awhile back I became so obsessed with the Orla Kiely canisters at Target. Unfortunately, by the time I resolved to buy one, they were sold out :( I love the colors and patterns of the letter box and can't wait to use it! I'm still not sure if I'll use it at home or use it to decorate my office at work...
